June 7th-15th

So I’ve gone on about 7 runs since the last time I blogged. I’m struggling to motivate myself to write about my runs even though I have plenty of time to do so. As I sit on the couch and reflected about the seven runs that I barely remember, I’m going to write seven things that I love about running in response to the seven runs that I have yet to write about. So here is what I love:

1.) Finding a good route and running it twice

2.) The way my body smells after a hard run in the sun (weird, huh?)

3.) Running in the rain

4.) Doing intervals to the point of exhaustion

5.) Passing other runners who love it as much as me

6.) Smelling the flowers or the food at a good restaurant

7.) Forgetting about the little things that bring stress into my life

June 5th

The Brooks Ravenna 2. I woke up this fine Sunday morning and really wanted to run but I was hesitant because my runs over the last few days have not been so pleasant. It was time to buy new shoes. For as much as I run I probably should have gotten new shoes months ago. I drove down to Athens Running Company and got fitted for a high support shoe. I tried on a few different kinds of shoes but I'm partial to Brooks. This is my third pair and I love them. Excited about my new purchase I decided to run in the 98 degree weather. Besides killer heat and humidity, I felt like I was running on clouds. Thank you Brooks for making running enjoyable again.

June 6th

I set out on a run in the early afternoon. The weather is surprisingly bearable for this time of day. There is a nice breeze and I'm feeling good about the run. My legs are fresh and my breathing was in sync. Then the dreaded stomach ache hits. Is this a joke? I feel great and then my stomach begins to hurt. I pushed through it and ran 7 angry miles. Ugh...

May 27th

I didn't run yesterday so I wanted to get a nice morning run in before work and leaving for Charleston. It was such a beautiful run at 9 am. Yes, it's getting hot, but there is still something rejuvenating about running on a summer morning.

May 28th, 29th, 30th

In Charleston playing in a soccer tournament. Five full games in three days. Reminds me of club soccer and I love it. Why do we have to get old?

June 1st

I love running on the first day of a new month. It's officially summer and man does it feel like it. I got a good morning run in before work. Still sore from soccer.

June 2nd

I rain at 4:30 this afternoon. It was probably the hottest that it had been all day. Words can't even explain. I should have run with my shirt off... I'll leave it at that.

June 3rd

Mags and I were leaving today for Abbeville, SC to see one of our best friends get married. I didn't have anything to do before we left except run. I did a five mile loop through campus. It was late morning and the funny thing is that it was actually cool compared to yesterday. Everything is relative.
